We are excited to announce that the the poet / performer / theatre maker Elizabeth Gibson will take on our next creative heritage commission looking at workers’ rights. Liz is a linguist, a photographer, a member of The Writing Squad, a Northern Writer Award recipient, and a prolific poet. She recently developed her first solo stage show The Reason For Geese, and as her practice moves from page to stage we are excited to offer Liz the chance to develop her creativity in this commission. Read more about Elizabeth Gibson. Thank you to all the talented writers who applied.

On Monday 9th May from 7pm Sally Gilford of Salford Makers will be joining in a printy ‘n’ playful event at the fabulous Nip & Tipple in Whalley Range. Called ‘BECOMING THE MATRIX’, the event is part of the Pint of Science Festival and gathers amazing science bods from the Wellcome Centre for Cell Matrix Research to learn fascinating stuff about how the cells in your body work, have a pint, & get your print on with a fun interactive game! Find out more about Becoming The Matrix and get your tickets. 

Do we need to remind you again that it’s almost time for Sounds From The Other City? The annual Salford art and music explosion is back for the Bank Holiday on 1st of May bringing dozens of talented musicians and promoters together across Chapel Street and beyond, day till night till day. Thanks to the dedicated self-employed posse who came to Tax Club. We had a no-mess no-fuss tax session putting our toughest questions to bed and a handful of us even got our whole self-assessment submission completed. Pat us on the back!
