On behalf of Islington Mill Team and Boards, Warm Wishes and Season’s Greetings to all!
We would like to share a heartfelt thank you to our whole community and all those who have supported us and for the generosity and care shown for each other. With tireless commitment from all involved, we feel very fortunate that we could continue through this difficult year with our creative programming and future vision, including the fantastic series of Heritage Commissions, Masks For Life, Memories Of Living, the inauguration of a new Creative Enterprise Support Programme, piloting explorations of a Queer Collective Residency, ongoing peer support for artists, the building and strengthening of creative relationships, welcoming new studio members and collectives to the Mill – and not to mention the long-awaited beginning of the renovation and building works!
In October, we were delighted to be awarded significant funding from The European Regional Development Fund and would like to take this opportunity to thank all our funders and partners and supporters, including National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England, The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Architectural Heritage Fund, The Women’s Organisation and Salford City Council.
In November we were happy to announce Partisan would be joining the Mill family and just this week we announced a new job role at the Mill to help us in our next steps.
We recognise that this year has impacted everyone in differing significant ways. Our heartfelt thoughts go out to all who are ill or recovering, those who are caring for others, and to those of you who have lost loved ones.
As we look back over this year, we are reminded once again of the outstanding skills and talents throughout our whole extended community, and our ongoing collective commitment to sharing and securing spaces for artists to thrive.
The pandemic has highlighted many injustices which we can now see more clearly than ever, and can actively address together with a collective focus on what we value and what we would like to leave behind. We continue taking steps together towards safer and more harmonious living, working and being.
