Sally Gilford

Specialising in printed textiles, Sally creates bold designs inspired by science and nature.

Through her work as a creative practitioner and producer, Sally facilitates the exploration of multi disciplinary art forms to encourage self-expression; creative experimentation, and process-led artistic collaboration. She has worked as an educator and socially engaged practitioner for over 10 years across a diverse range of organisations and in a variety of settings including internationally recognised galleries and museums and she runs a programme of public workshops available to book via her website.

Sally is also a part of >thread{ } collective. Working with code and human bio data, they produce digital imagery interpreted through print and surface pattern. They are interested in exploring participatory practice using generative art.

She has been based at Islington Mill since co-founding screen print specialists One69A in 2009 and Salford Makers CiC in 2017.
