Owen Herbert is a sculptor whose practice is informed by performance and research. He uses a variety of materials dependent on project, but text, found materials and performative actions often feature. He is currently exploring a conceptual framework of ‘performing research’ to explore how those terms inform one another to expand the limits of sculpture, while retaining an in-depth engagement with materials.
He professionally facilitates the arts in the form of technical work, workshops, and artists’ conversations. He graduated in Fine Art (Sculpture) at the University of Brighton where he then worked as a gallery technician, and has worked for MIF, M3 Industries and Islington Mill. He currently facilitates virtual crits supported by a bursary from a-n The Artists Information Company and Arts Council England.
