After four successful years, The Skinny North will be closing. We’ve been proud to give a platform to exciting emerging artists, bands, filmmakers, comedians and theatre-makers, while also providing a place for talented writers to hone their craft. However, in the wake of unprecedented staff departures we have been forced to take the decision to close down our print edition, meaning that the July/August issue will be the final bimonthly magazine.
But we want to go out as we arrived – with a bang! We’re planning a super special blow-out on 14 July at the mighty Islington Mill to celebrate over four years of being a kickass magazine.
You’re invited to help see us out in style, whether you’re a reader, contributor, friend of the mag or simply someone who’s passionate about the North’s incredible arts and culture.
The lineup is TBC, with more details to follow over the coming weeks – but if you’re a band, DJ or performer and would be interested in playing, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entry’s free, but we’ll be raising money to help support Islington Mill via donations on the night. Read more about Islington Mill’s ongoing fundraiding effort here: http://
