The Second Coming of Steam: a discussion with Matt Wynne

Join us for an informal discussion *in the sauna* about the history of sauna, steam rooms and perceptions of public bathing across different cultures. Looking at recent cultural shifts, Matt will also be sharing his involvement with local councils’ investments in to new municipal sauna and steam rooms.

The event title is taken from a 2017 article of Matt’s published by the Manchester Media Group, which explores steam rooms as a way to tackle social isolation and forge a new sense of community ethos.

*** The sauna will stay open until 10:30pm ***
