Ask Us Anything: China Residencies Artist Talk

Come for a chat with China Residencies‘ co-founder Kira Simon-Kennedy & Red Gate Residency coordinator Hu Xinru to ask all your questions about artist residencies all across mainland China & Hong Kong, open calls & other funded opportunities, living in Beijing, navigating the art world, the Internet, and pretty much anything else you’d like to know about life in China.

About us:

China Residencies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a comprehensive directory of artist residencies in China; researching organizational best practices; and fostering successful creative exchange for visiting artists.

Red Gate Residency is Beijing’s longest running international artist residency program providing artists, curators, writers, and academics with the opportunity to live and create work in China.

This event is part of our first Residency Knowledge Exchange  supported by Transnational Dialogues, an open and on-going cross-media platform managing and imagining artistic and cultural projects between Europe, China and Brazil.

Weekly Wednesday Potlucks

Islington Mill is open to the public every Wednesday for a rotating series of lectures, film nights, artist critiques & hands on workshops as an addition to our potluck tradition.

Doors are at 6:30pm, food in the 1st floor Common Room and event times for the Gallery Space will be as announced week to week.

All are welcome to attend either the potluck or the event, or both!
