WEAVE is our creative business support programme open to all Greater Manchester based artists, creatives and SMEs.
On this page you will find the latest information about what is being offered on the programme, which we will be updating throughout the year as we take in your suggestions and needs. If there is a workshop or class that you are interested in but it is full please do contact us and let us know because we will look at repeating it.

WEAVE Winter School – 13 – 15 December 2022
Free creative business support, well-being, masterclasses and networking for the Greater Manchester creative community
Winter School is a 3-day series of workshops, conversations, masterclasses and networking, all free to attend for participants of Islington Mill’s WEAVE programme.
New participants are welcome to sign up at the event for free to enjoy our full programme across the week.
The modules have been chosen and developed in conversation with our community and are designed to support creative individuals and organisations.
Whether you’re an early or mid-career artist, a well-established freelancer or just starting out, we have classes that can support your development and help you to grow in confidence.
WEAVE is a funded business support programme open to all creatives based in Greater Manchester who are registered with HMRC.

Industry Partnering Awards
Anyone who completes the WEAVE programme – including 12 hours of support and learning, will be eligible to apply for an Industry Partnering Award, alone or with other participants.
The awards are for people to use towards:
- Expanding creative practice (test bedding, creating new products, new ideas)
- Sustainable growth (jobs, surplus etc)
- Collaboration with other industry sectors or other creative practitioners
We ask for proposals to include a summary of your business/practice, what you want the award for (objectives/aims), and to include measures of success (outcomes, outputs, impact). How much you are applying for complimented with a costed budget.
The majority of awards will be between £1000 to £2500.
