A Mancunian artist, based in her studio on the 3rd floor of Islington Mill, Rachel Presswood works with ceramics. Central to all of her work is a desire to engage people’s imagination, whether that’s through the character and personality of the monsters she creates or simply the shape and texture of her tableware that calls out to be touched and handled. Rachel always aims to connect her work with nature, finding inspiration in the forests and landscapes around the city she lives in and always moulds the clay by hand in a natural, organic way, allowing the character of the clay to guide the forms she creates.
Rachel sells regularly at the Makers’ Market in the Northern Quarter (second Sunday of every month) and Altrincham Market (last Sunday of every month) as well as selling internationally from her Etsy shop.
Feel free to contact Rachel with any questions, opportunities or commission requests.
