This year Ladyfest hosts a specially created event for Wonder Women, exploring themes on visibility, body politics and identity in the context of the modern music industry.
This one-day event aims to encourage women to get involved in the music industry through practical sound production and music business workshops, plus an interactive lab from pioneers developing access for disabled musicians and promoters.
There’s a chance to hear Caro C – co-founder of Delia Derbyshire Day – deliver her talk ‘Visibility is Key’ on women in tech and electronic music. The musical programme rounds off with a panel discussion from key female figures in the music industry.
Wrapping up the day is the local body positive campaign ‘Free to be OK with Me’ – with workshops to encourage acceptance of our own bodies whatever their shape and with activist art shining a light on key body image issues.
