Pif-Paf is a exciting emerging collaborative arts company working in sculpture, performance, sound, natural history and engineering.
Founded at Islington Mill in 2004 by Pete Gunson we have worked for clients as diverse as Ordsall Community Arts to the BBC and The Salford Lads Club to the National Theatre.
Pif-Paf has been described as "...a gloriously eccentric outfit producing arresting outdoor visual and performance work, often with an environmental theme, but never at the expense of an audience's engagement... Imaginative, thought-provoking and very funny. One of the North West's hidden gems." by Charles Rowley of Arts Council England.
Current projects include:
- recently installed, and very fine they are, sculptures in Kersal Dale park (up the road from Islington Mill),
- developing 'Honey' a new show for 2008 about a world where humans have to do the work of a bees. So far supported by Winchester Hat Fair and Manchester International Arts,
- developing a major site specific show in Clifton Country Park for Salford City Council in 2008,
- helping Forkbeard Fantasy create a series of paranoia inducing robots,
- continued touring and redevelopment of the Extinct Animals Troupe, three cages, three time travellers and 637 species fallen at man's clumsy hand
