TURF // Exhibition Opening

Whether visible or invisible we are defined by notions of turf. The fences and borders that physically withhold us can be both confining and protecting. Territory is impermanent and evolving in our modern climate, therefore, the expansion of the city and destruction of the natural world is also paired with the need to limit and fear of the ‘other’ invading ‘our’ space. The uncertain definition of turf however, leaves us with the ability to explore new ways of reclaiming space and making our individual mark. With this in mind, TURF invites you to consider what territory means to you.
