Welcome to SoundsTown, population YOU!

At this year’s Sounds From The Other City – Salford’s celebration of new music, performance and art on Sunday 6 May – we welcome you to SoundsTown, our imaginary community (that looks an awful lot like Chapel Street..) filled with wacky neighbours, odd goings-on, and all mod cons! Sensational SoundsTown art direction comes from the Transatlantic Trade Partnership, aka artists Stina Puotinen & David Bailey.

Highlights for SoundsTown and SFTOC 2018 include…

SoundsTown Dogshow. Not arf! Register your handsome pooch from 2.30pm at Regent’s Trading Estate, no wristband required (for you or the dog). Read more. 

SoundsTown Academy of Painting and Decorating. Show off your decor skills and painting prowess in a spectacular high-octane live art contest. Read more.

Invisible Wind Factory & Friends take over the Mill, providing 2 glorious rooms of music, all day & night, plus lighting installations, magical interventions, and performances from Liverpool Supergroup Jacuzzi, plus Iranian rapper Farhood and The Aleph.

Brand new commission with BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, performing a unique collaboration with Manchester Camerata composer Laura Bowler and Mill artist Rachel Goodyear. Collect a free ticket from Wristband Exchange on the day, first come first served!
